Mildred L. Savage, age 86, of Gulfport, died Sunday, March 25, 2007 in Gulfport. She was born in Pawhuska, OK and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1957.
Mrs. Savage was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and an early member of Gulfport Civic League where she worked with the crippled childrens program. She was a founder of the volunteer group at Boyington Nursing Center where she received special recognition. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Harp Blanchard and Della McCallie West; a grandson, Chandler Viator; and a sister, Maxine Connell.
Mrs. Savage is survived by her husband of 66 years, C. S. "Jim" Savage of Gulfport; a daughter, DeAnn Viator and her husband, Gerald of Pass Christian; a son, Monte Savage of Gulfport; and two granddaughters, Jessica Savage, and Nicole McCool and her husband, Jimmy.
The funeral service will be Wednesday March 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Gulfport where friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until the service.
