Mildred O. Sullivan, 90, of Ocean Springs, MS died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Thomaston, AL and resided in Ocean Springs all of her adult life. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs. Mrs. Sullivan worked at Howard Memorial Hospital in Biloxi as Director of Personnel for 25 years and sold insurance for Colonial Life Insurance Company for 18 years. She ended her career at Biloxi Municipal Credit Union where she was an original founding member of the Board of Directors in the early 1970’s. Mrs. Sullivan was a member of the Derby Strutters Marching Club. She loved to play Canasta and she loved to dance. With her infectious smile and contagious charm, she never met a stranger.
Mrs. Sullivan is preceded in death by her husband, Ben F. Sullivan; her brother, William Owens; and her sisters, Margaret Hoefer and Mary Adams.
Her survivors include her daughters, Sharon Coward (David) and Deborah Parker (Robert) both of Ocean Springs and Cindy Phillips (Ken) of Fairhope, AL; her sister, Dr. Frances O. Cannon of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Richmond Coward (Megan), Jenifer Newport (Matt), Ben Parker (Sara), Adrianne Parker and Abby Phillips; her great-grandchildren, Presley Newport, June Wilson, Harper Coward, Gage Barraza, Easton Parker and Reese Parker; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Camellia Hospice of Biloxi and to the Ocean Springs Nursing Center.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
