Ty Cox passed away on Saturday, February 11th 2023.
After being raised in Biloxi, MS, Ty enlisted in the US Marine Corp and served in Vietnam, earning the purple heart and finishing his tour as Lance Corporal.
On returning home, he married his first wife, Bonnie, and they would have 2 children together. He would then go on to join Mark Stebly on the Pelican houseboat at Chandeleur Island. As a fishing guide and cook, Ty was blessed to create memories and forge deep friendships that would last his lifetime.
Ty was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Cox; mother, Lois Extine Cox; sister: Kim Mapp; and brother, Carey Cox.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Cheryl Terry Cox; daughter, Brandy (Jamey) Stinson; son, Jason Cox; grandchildren, Peyton (Kassidy) Stinson, Sara Kate Stinson, and Zoie Cumbest; nephew, Michael Stubbs; brothers, Sonny (Dianna) Kuns, Ron (Carolyn) Cox, and Timmy (Brigette) Cox; and sister, Cyndi Stubbs.
There will be a celebration of Life on Saturday, February 25th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, 115 E 1st Street Biloxi, MS 39530.
