Miriam Rice Bourgeois

Miriam Rice Bourgeois, age 95, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Ocean Springs. Ms. Bourgeois was born in Neshoba County and traveled to Columbus, Ohio where she worked with Curtis Wright Aviation as part of the War Effort. She later resided in California working in aviation; then moved to Miami and later to the coast in 1945 where she embarked on a career in Cosmetology as a beautician. She owned and operated Miriam's Beauty Salon on Washington Avenue in Ocean Springs for about ten years before relocating to her home, where she worked well into her eighties. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly and deeply missed. Survivors include her son, Michael Bourgeois (Alisa); grandchildren, Jennifer Fry (Wesley) and Jolie Bourgeois all of Ocean Springs and great-grandchild, Trenton Wesley Fry. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. where friends may visit one hour prior at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Crestlawn Mausoleum, Ocean Springs, MS.
