Miriam (Sue) Glynn Meynier, 80, of Biloxi, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 in Lucedale, MS. Mrs. Meynier was born May 27, 1927, in New Orleans, LA and had been a resident of Biloxi since August 1947. Though she was raised in New Orleans, she always considered Biloxi her home. She retired from the Biloxi School System as a janitor. She worked most of those years at Mary L. Michel Jr. High and Biloxi Senior High. She loved the students and always encouraged them to achieve high goals by getting an education. She touched a lot of lives. Mrs. Meynier was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred V. Meynier Sr., of Biloxi, her mother, Louise Cella Glynn, grandfather, Anthony Cella, three sisters: Hannah Prattina, Katherine Rodrigues all of New Orleans and Rosetta Meyneir of Ocean Springs, four brothers: James (Bubby) Glynn, Lawrence (Red) Glynn, Anthony (Tudy) Glynn and Jude (Tom) Glynn, all of New Orleans and grandson, Justin Strange. She is survived by her son, Alfred V. Meynier, Jr. (Rebecca) of Lucedale, daughter, Irene Wallace (Gene) of Ocean Springs, sister, Julia (Lou) Jackson of Rigby, MS, brother-in-law, George Prattini Kenner, LA and sister-in-laws: Rita Glynn of Kenner, LA and Patricia Glynn of Slidell, LA. grandchildren, Alfred (Chip) Meynier III (Renee) of Mobile, AL, Gwen Speth (Morgan) of Woolmarket, Adam Strange of Lucedale, Michelle Smith of D'Iberville and Colleen Smith of Ocean Springs, great grandchildren: Alfred (Vic) Meynier IV (Erica) of Gulfport, Skylea Meynier of South Dakota, Colton Burdine, Ashlyn and Devan Speth of Woolmarket and Shelby Strange of Lucedale, one great-great grandson, Lucas Meynier of Gulfport and numerous nieces and nephews. Pall Bearers: Chip Meynier, Vic Meynier, Adam Strange, Morgan Speth, Mike Melendy and Daxton Allen. Visitation is Thursday, May 15, 2008, 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Service will be Friday, May 16, 2008, 10:00 a.m. Both will take place at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes, Biloxi.
