"Miss Sheila" Atkins, age 76, of D'Iberville passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, after battling illness for 8 months.
Miss Sheila was co-owner of Golden Gate Skateland for 50 years, a graduate of Gulfport High School, and a member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi. She loved Mardi Gras, movies, travel, music, concerts, dancing, and of course, roller skating. She was a loving mother and "Nana" and will be missed by all of her family and the many employees and customers that she considered her adopted children.
Survivors include her husband, "Mr. Billy" Atkins; son, Billy Atkins; daughter, Angie Waites; son-in-law, Rusty Waites; grandchildren, Alexia Waites, Matthew Atkins, Daniel Atkins, and Halle Waites; sisters, Carolyn Bradshaw and Tina Larson; goddaughter, Angelia Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A visitation will be held at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home - Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10:30 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
