Mitchell Sylvester Parker, age 77 of Ocean Springs died on August 26, 2020 at 8:46 a.m.
He was born on July 13, 1943 at the Biloxi Hospital. He was a devoted father. Mitchell had been a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Ocean Springs since 1943. He was a member of McLeod Lodge No. 424, Magnolia Lodge No. 120, and a lifetime member of Bay St. Louis No. 429. He retired from Northrop Grumman Ship Building in Pascagoula, MS with twenty-one years of service in Electrical Engineering. Mitchell served in the MS National Guard E7 for ten years in Ocean Springs and Biloxi and is a veteran.
Bro. Parker was preceded in death by his late parents, Arnold Parker, Sr. and Vera Griffin Parker; two sisters, Gloria Ford Parker and Patsy Weiss; two brothers, Arnold Parker, Jr. and Joseph W. Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-two years, Emily Janeice Meriwether Parker; sister-in-law, Bunny Ruth Meriwether; two brothers-in-law, Ben Meriwether and John Meriwether; children, late Betty Michell Harvey, Tanya Beech, Destin Beech, Crystal Beech, Slade Beech, Cruz Beech, and Lucas Breter; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Jackson Co. Animal Shelter.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sat., August 29, 2020 at White Plains Methodist Church Cemetery, 18013 Hwy 15, White Plains Rd., Saucier, MS 39574. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mask will be required at the graveside service. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS is honored to serve this family.
