Mitsuko "Mickey" Haraguchi Inoue, age 73, of Long Beach passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Mickey was born August 25, 1949 in Oita, Kyushu, Japan to Masaru Haraguchi and Asako Takiguchi. She was a nurse while she was living in Japan, but shifted her job focus when moving to America and becoming a proud American citizen. She worked various jobs from Carter's factory, cooking, a chef, and finally a server before she retired. Mickey was very religious as an active practicing Buddhist, she regularly attended meeting. Everyone knows that Mitsuko had a love for slot machines, food, and her family. She was always willing to help people even when she didn't have much to give.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Masaru Haraguchi and Asako Takiguchi; and brother, Yasayuki Haraguchi.
Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda Gay Underwood and her husband, August Underwood, and Merryellen Achille and her husband, Matthew Achille; grandchildren, Aidan Alexander Philipson, Duke Walker Achille, and Brittany Jane Davis; siblings Junko Haraguchi and Takashi Haraguchi; niece, Ami Haraguchi; and Sweetie, her temperamental tortie.
There will be a celebration of life that will be disclosed at a later date.
The family would like to thank the doctors that tried to help their mom’s condition and in particular her oncologist, Dr. Olivia Hightower at Memorial Oncology.
