Mr. Glenn Alan Ryen, age 83, of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away at his home January 9, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Ryen was born January 28, 1927 in Kitsap County, Washington. He was a resident of Ocean Springs for the past twenty-seven years. Mr. Ryen served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding as a Design Specialist. Glenn had a passion for golf, enjoyed fishing and loved the New Orleans Saints.
Mr. Ryen was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Brynhild Ryen; two brothers, Sidney and Freddie Ryen all from Bremerton, WA and a great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Davis Goodrich from Laurel, MS.
Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-six years, Donna Ryen of Ocean Springs; children, Dwight and Dwayne Ryen and daughter, Glenna, all of Bremerton, WA; Sherry (Wilson) Stillwell, Jr., of Burkeville, TX, Rickey and Mickey Frank of Birmingham, AL., Theresa (David) Andes of Pasadena, MD., Lisa (Randy) Roberts of Orange, TX. He was also known as "Poppy" to fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 12:00 noon, where friends may visit one hour prior at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
