Mr. J. W. Eaton, Sr.

Mr. J. W. Eaton, Sr., 83, of Gulfport, MS, died Saturday, January 27, 2007, in Gulfport. Mr. Eaton, a native of Seminary, MS, was a resident of the coast in the early 1940s until he moved to Hattiesburg, MS where he was the owner of Eaton Motors. He returned to the coast in 1977 and opened Eaton Motors in Gulfport. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Eaton was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Morgan Eaton; his second wife, Gladys Carroll Eaton; parents, Levelle and Katie McDermott Eaton; brother, Lloyd Eaton, and a sister, Christine Touchstone. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Eaton, of Gulfport; two sons, Don (Charlene) Eaton of Fairfield, IL and John W. (Teri) Eaton, Jr. of Gulfport; four sisters, Eva Yates of Hattiesburg, Juanita (Bill) Honea of Pearl, Rosetta (Bill) Clark of Hattiesburg, and Carol Eaton of Metairie; one brother, Lavon Eaton of Red Oak, Texas; five grandsons, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is Monday, January 29, 2007, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Grace Memorial Baptist Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
