Mr. Nicholas Dominic Rodolfich, life long resident of Biloxi died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the age of 90. Prior to his military service in the U. S. Navy he and his sister, Perina Rodolfich, sang on radio-channel WNOE in New Orleans. Upon his return from the service, he painted signs and boats. Many locals will remember his unique artistic style of names on the bows and sterns of Old Biloxi's fishing boats. Most of his life was dedicated to the design and construction of wooden and steel hull vessels. Boats were his passion and many of his designs are still in service today.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Stepan Rodolfich and Johanna Molitva Skrmetta originally of Braac, Austria; his two brothers, Steve and Johnny Rodolfich; and three sisters, Sophie Rodolfich, Mary Barich and Stephania Olier.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Smith, originally of Gulfport; a son, Nicholas Keef Rodolfich of Biloxi; three daughters, Jean Vendrell of Moss Point, Angela Ladner of Lizana and Ava Coleman of Lyman; two sisters, Perina Lees of New Orleans, LA and Olive Rodolfich of Biloxi; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday, December 5, 2005 at 2pm at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Friends may visit two hours prior to service time. Burial to follow in the Biloxi City Cemetery.
