Mr. Walter DeLancey

Mr. Walter "Pete" DeLancey, age 76, of Vancleave, MS., died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, in Vancleave. Mr. DeLancey was a lifelong resident of the community. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a cherished husband, father and friend. Mr. DeLancey was preceded in death by a daughter, Cassie Lou DeLancey, parents, Walter and Annie DeLancey and brothers, Olin, Lloyd, Alton, and Tom De Lancey. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie DeLancey, daughters, Colinda (David) Green and Nancy (Sam Riley) Cain, two sons, Winfield (Susie) DeLancey and Val (Missy) DeLancey, and brother, Keble DeLancey, all of Van Cleave, fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, April 22, 2005, from 6-9 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, April 23, 2005, there will be a 10 AM Memorial Service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to The Community of Christ Church, 12205 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Vancleave, MS. 39565, or to ones' favorite charity.
