Mrs. Bernice Broussard Songe, 85, of Biloxi, MS, died Sunday, February 12, 2006, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Songe was a native of Youngsville, LA and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 69 years. She spent her entire working life in the Biloxi Seafood Industry. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and the St. Michaels Altar Society and a life member of the Fleur de Lis Society, Ladies Auxialiry.
Mrs. Songe was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Adam Songe, Sr., son-in-law, Ray Wescovich, Sr.; sister, Electa Hightower and three brothers, Cliff A. Broussard, Alcese Broussard and Nutley Broussard.
Survivors include her daughter, Lois A. Wescovich of Biloxi; two sons, Fletcher Adam Songe, Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Pascagoula and Gerald J. Songe and his wife, Sylvia, of Biloxi; two sisters, Zoway Demet of Biloxi and Aline Thurman of Winne, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Stephen F. Songe, Matthew J. Songe, Stacey Sharp, Ray Wescovich, Jr., Denise Johnson and Sonya DuBois, and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation is Thursday, February 16, 2006, from 6 till 9 p.m. at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Nativity B. V. M. Catholic Cathedral where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
