Mrs. Gladys Leighton Eddy

Mrs. Gladys Leighton Eddy passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at the age of 98. She was the daughter of Captain Edwin Leighton and Bettina Katting Leighton of Groton, Connecticut. Mrs. Eddy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Josselyn Rufus Eddy; and her sister, Edwina Leighton Haynes. Mrs. Eddy is survived by her daughter, Edwina Jocelyn Conason; her son-in-law, Deacon Rick S. Conason; and her grandson, James Emil Conason all of Gulfport, MS. Mrs. Eddy lived in Biloxi, MS for the last seven years. She traveled to Europe several times and took cruises to the Caribbean. She was a homemaker and the wife of a World War II veteran. She volunteered for many years for Altar Guild, PTA, and she worked at Post College Graduate Library School in New York. A funeral service will be presided over by the Rev. Harold Roberts of the Church of the Redeemer. It will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS, on Friday, March 2nd at 10:00am, friends may visit one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in Mystic, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers make donations to ones favorite charity. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, Biloxi, MS is in charge of arrangements.
