Mrs. Laura Uchello Newman

Laura Uchello Newman, a resident of Biloxi, after a long illness passed away on February 14, 2022 at Merit Health Biloxi. Laura was born March 24, 1955 to Louis Carl Uchello and Johnnie Louis Brister Uchello. Laura was employed in the tourism industry for most of her life working at the Sun Tan Motel on the beach in Biloxi, which was owned by her family. She was of the Catholic faith.

She & her husband Perry were both animal lovers and supported many animal related organizations. Their dogs Atticus, Duke & DeNiro brought much happiness to their family and when talking about any of their pets, Laura would refer to them as her children.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Louis Carl Uchello & Johnnie Louis Brister Uchello. She is survived by her husband of 24 years Perry Newman of Biloxi, her brothers Carl Uchello (Tammy) of Biloxi and Jeffrey Uchello (Tammy) of Belleville, IL.

A graveside service will be held at the Biloxi City Cemetery alongside her parents on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, Laura’s family asks for donations to be made to any animal rights and care organizations.
