Mrs. Lila Marcia Hurlbert

Mrs. Lila Marcia Hurlbert, 78, of St. Martin died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Hurlbert lovingly known as "Marcie" was born in Jacksonville, FL. She and her husband returned to the coast in 1973 following his retirement from military service. While her husband served in the military she was active in the Air Force Wives Club and upon retirement to the coast she preformed charitable work with the Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority where she was a member for over 20 years. Mrs. Hurlbert was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eunice Lee Merriman; a sister, Cathrine Hopkins and a brother, A. V. Prather. Mrs. Hurlbert is survived by her husband of 58 years, Hupert "Hub" Hurlbert of St. Martin; two sisters, Dixie Driggers of Melrose, FL and Althea Dickson of Jacksonville, FL; five brothers, George Adams of Baileyville, ME, Thomas Adams of Huntington Beach, CA, James Adams of Tacoma, WA, John Adams of Davenport, IA and Charles Adams of Jacksonville, FL; also numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2006 at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes at 1:30 pm where friends may visit from Noon until service time. Burial to follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
