Mrs. Louise Calcote Moorer, 84, died Friday, May 27, 2005, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.
Mrs. Moorer was born September 22, 1920 in Lucien, MS. She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and received her masters degree from the University of North Carolina. She lived most of her life in Gulfport, MS and was a teacher in the Gulfport Public School System for many years. Mrs. Moorer resided with her daughter and son-in-law for the past eighteen months in Calhoun City, MS. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Gulfport and the First Baptist Church in Calhoun City.
Mrs. Moorer was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Moorer, Sr., her parents, William Henry Calcote and Ruth Ann Smith Calcote, two brothers, Robert Earl Calcote and Richard Calcote and a sister, Elsie White.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane Hardin and her husband, Charles, of Calhoun City; two sons, William B. Moorer, Jr. of Gautier, MS and John F. Moorer of Biloxi, MS; four grandsons and two great-grandsons; four sisters, Flora Byrd of Guntersville, AL, Nellie Denman of Smithdale, MS, Dorothy Poole of Hernando, MS and Ruth Way of Georgetown, TX; two brothers, David Calcote of Brookhaven, MS and James Calcote of Gulfport, MS.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2005, from 11 a. m. till 12 noon at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport, MS. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12 noon for graveside services in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at 12:30 p.m.
