Mrs. Mary Ann Foley Ranson, 78, of Gulfport, MS died Friday, May 13, 2005, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Ranson was a native of Memphis, TN and had been a longtime resident of Gulfport. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was also a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She was a volunteer at the De L'Epee Deaf Center and served as a HOSTS tutor at Anniston Avenue Elementary School Mrs. Ranson was an avid bridge player and a member of the Bridge Club of Gulfport. She was a founding member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Alzheimer's Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Joseph Ranson; her parents, Edward M. Foley and Lucille Landolina Foley; a sister, Sarah Foley Cross and three brothers, Thomas Foley, Edmond Foley and James Foley.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Ann Necaise and her husband, Carl, of Hamilton, Ohio; Catherine McGuffee and her husband, David; Louise Keels and Jane Glenn and her husband, Kit, all of Gulfport; three sons, E. Foley Ranson and his wife, Sheree, of Ocean Springs; Robert L. Ranson of Gulfport and Thomas A. Ranson and his wife, Celeste, of Camden, SC; eighteen grandchildren. one great grandchild and a former daughter-in-law-, Mary May Ranson of Pass Christian.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time.
The family prefers memorials be made to the Heart Disease Research Foundation, 50 Court St., Brooklyn, NY 11201 or to St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12290 Depew Road, Lyman, MS 39503.
