Mrs. Teressa Jean Brooks Mason

Mrs, Teressa Jean Brooks Mason, 54, of Ocean Spring MS, fied Friday, March 11, 2005. Mrs. Mason was born January 11, 1951, in Pascagoula, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for 44 years. She taught elementary school (Howard II Elementary) for 23 years in the Biloxi School System where she was named Elementary School Teacher of the Year for 1991. Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Imogene Brooks of Ocean Springs and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Brooks and Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Clark of Pascagoula. Survivors include her dedicated husband of 34 years, Joe I. "Joey" Mason, Jr.; her beloved sons, Joe "JoJo" I. Mason, III and Christopher A. "Chris" Mason; two loving sisters, Debra Shotlander and her husband, Bob, and Rene Rush; one younger brother, John F. Brooks, II; two nephews, Hendon and Abram Rush and two nieces, Kamerin Rush and Jese Shotlander, as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Teressa was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a superb teacher who touched the lives of many. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Teressa truly loved the South Mississippi Methodist Cursillo movement (#23). A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 800 Porter Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS where family and friends may visit from 9:30 a. m. till service time. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to the Home of Grace, 1420 Jerricho Road, Vancleave, MS 39564.
