MSgt Mark Allan Edwards

MSgt Mark Allan Edwards, 66, of Biloxi, MS passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023. Mark was born April 2, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN to Donald and Sylvia Edwards.

Mark joined the United States Air Force, where he served proudly for 23 years. While in the Air Force, he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he began working at Lowes. Mark remained employed by Lowes for 18 years till retiring.  While in the Air Force, Mark received numerous awards and recognitions such as, the Air Force Achievement Medal with 1 bronze oak leaf cluster (OLC), Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 bronze OLC, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon/Rifle, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with 2 bronze OCL’s, National Defense Service Medal with 1 bronze star, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon with 2 bronze OLC’s, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 1 bronze star, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 bronze OLC’s, Kuwait Liberation Medal Sadia Arabia, Kuwait Liberation Medal Kuwait, Navy Unit Commendation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 4 bronze OLC’s, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 1 silver and 1 bronze OLC, and the Humanitarian Service Medal. Mark was an active member of Keesler Air Force Base Church for 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting rocks and minerals and all things car or science fiction related.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Slyvia Edwards.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Anna Edwards; daughters, Ariel Moore and Sarah Edwards; grandchildren, Masen Moore, Destiny Sims, Elise Moore, Vivian Moore, Liam Moore, Brice Edwards, Max Moore, and Aaliyah Marshall; and siblings, Linda Court, Rita Funk, Tina Bennett, and Kim Sackett.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
