S/Sgt. Murray E. Johnson, 75, of Vancleave, MS, passed away Friday, December 21, 2007, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Sgt. Murray was born January 22, 1932 in Hornell, New York where he graduated from high School. He joined the U. S. Air Force and married Priscilla Perrino. In 1968 he came to the coast and served as a communications instructor at Keesler Air Force Base where he retired after 20 years of service.
Sgt. Murray was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Priscilla Perrino Johnson; mother Lucille Johnson; father, John William Johnson, and sister, Beulla Johnson Ribble.
Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his daughters, Ruth (John) Hayes, Jr. of Vancleave, Robin (Kenny) Allen of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Mary (Ray) Gentry of Horn Lake, MS, Brenda (George) Groves of Vancleave; sons, Michael (Joy) Johnson of Brandenpon, FL, James (Terrie) Johnson of Meadville, PA; sixteen grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, one sister, a number of nieces and nephews, and special friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs where friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
