Myrtis Leo Martin

Myrtis Leo Martin, age 91, of the Lizana Community, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.

Ms. Martin was born in Saucier, MS on November 26, 1930 to Alonza and Ella Ladner.  She was a member of Galilee Church in Saucier and she enjoyed cooking, fishing and visiting family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her spouse of 54 years, Glen Wood Martin; her siblings, Tilmon Ladner (Ruby), Talmon Ladner (Catherine), Hillman Ladner (Beurisa), Myrtle Poolson (Edward), Gertrude Ladnier (James), Gertis Lizana (Viren) and Hertis Moran (Francis).

Ms. Martin is survived by her sisters-in-law Catherine Ladner of Saucier and Edith Martin Gould of Hutchinson, KS and her caretaker niece Marlene Moran.  She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be Monday, December 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. at the O’Neal Road location of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS.  The service will be officiated by Elder Willie Rogers of Galilee Church.  Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
