Nancy Bard

Nancy J. Bard, age 76, of Long Beach, MS, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice in MS on Friday, January 27, 2023. Born December 24, 1946, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mac and Olive Seville Clevenger. 

Mrs. Bard was a 1964 graduate of McConnellsburg High School. She worked as a cashier for over 35 years, to include working at the former Park’s Grocery in McConnellsburg, PA and Sunnyway Foods in Chambersburg, PA. She retired in Mississippi in 2007. She enjoyed reading mysteries, and completing puzzles.

Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Larry C. M. Bard, whom she married on August 5, 1967; three children, Delores Peters (husband Timothy) of Swansboro, NC, Dianne McIlveen of Bedford, PA, and John Bard of Shippensburg, PA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charlie Clevenger of Mercersburg, Pa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Clevenger. 

Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11 AM at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
