Nelda "June" Ivy

Nelda “June” Ivy, 83, of Vancleave, MS, passed away on Saturday, Dec 2, 2023.

June was born in Paris, TX and raised in Lancaster, TX by her mother and step father Dovie and Edward Martin. She married Rufus Paul Ivy July 1967 in Dallas, TX where she gave birth to her only son, Rufus Paul Ivy II.  They moved to several locations before settling down in Clarke County, MS where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Mississippi State University.  She began working for the State of Mississippi as a Social Worker and relocated to Ackerman, MS where she retired. Upon the passing of her husband, she relocated to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. 

June is preceded in death by son, Enoch Paul Ivey, her parents, Dovie and Edward Martin, sister, Pam Martin, brother, Jimmy Martin, daughter, Virginia Anne Ivey and husband, Rufus Paul Ivy. 

Survivors include her loving son, Paul and daughter (Wife) Angela Ivy, 8 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life and interment of the ashes will be held at a later date.
