Nelma Beets

Mrs. Nelma Elizabeth Beets, age 87 of Ocean Springs, MS., went to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday, October 14, 2010 in Ocean Springs after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Beets was born in Columbia, MS and has been a resident of Ocean Springs since 1959. She was a custom drapery seamstress with the family of Merchiston Hall and was also a member of Cedar Lake Christian Assembly in Biloxi. Mrs. Beets was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer R. Beets parents, Luther and Dessie Stewart; brother, John (Myrle) Stewart; sister, Aimee Martin. Survivors include two daughters, Aundria (David) Crawford and Brenda (TJ) Smith; one son, Steve (Linda) Beets; two sisters, Hilda Fiorenza and Dottie Crapo; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Southern Care Hospice for the comfort and professional care provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of the South, 14175 Country Hills Drive, Gulfport, MS 39503. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. where friends may visit one hour prior to service at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
