Mrs. Nitza Maria Betancourt Garbin, 75, of Ocean Springs, MS died Monday, April 26, 2010, in Long Beach.
Mrs. Garbin was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1967. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs and the mother of six children and sixteen grandchildren.
Mrs. Garbin was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, and seven siblings. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Frank G. Garbin, Sr.; daughters, Nilda (Kevin, Sr.) Webb, Donna (Jim) Corder, Sharon (Lee, Jr.) Klein and Paulette (Craig) Dawkins; sons, Frank G. Garbin, Jr. and Paul N. (Marie) Garbin; sister, Luisa (John) Clark; brothers, Efrain (Paulita), Francisco(Lesbia) and Rafael (Olga) Betancourt; and sixteen grandchildren.
The family would liketo express special thanks to Dr. Thomas Blanks, Memorial Hospital Hospice Staff, her nurse, Paul Cook, RN and her caregivers, Tammy and Todd Allen and their children, Ciara and T J Allen, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, April 30. 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time Braford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of services.
