Norma Laing

Norma Laing passed away at the age of 93 on August 8, 2008. Norma was a long time Biloxi resident. She was born at Shoals, IN on April 3, 1915 and grew up in West Virginia. She came to Biloxi in 1942 where she met and married her husband. They moved to Biloxi in 1943 to 1944. She left to live near her family while her husband was overseas in WW-II. They returned to stay in 1951. She was active in the Order of Amaranth and Past Worthy Matron of Fellowship Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In her earlier years she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and working with youth groups. In later years she was an active member of the church relief society. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas D. Laing, Sr.; two sons, Thomas D. Laing, Jr. of Seattle, WA and Martin D. Laing of Alexandria, WA; two granddaughters, Sarah E. Laing and Robyn J. Laing; one grandson, Thomas D. Laing, III; also a sister, one brother, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation is Friday, August 15, 2008 from 5-8 PM. Services will be Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 2 PM. Both will take place at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi.
