Mr. Norman Frank Offenberg, age 81, of Stockbridge, GA., died Saturday, October 14, 2006, in Georgia.
Mr. Offenberg was a former longtime resident of Ocean Springs. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and a former Scout Master. He was also a member of the V.F.W., was an avid general aviation pilot, and and was certified as a professional engineer in MS., LA. and AL. Mr. Offenberg was a Marine Corp veteran who served during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Offenberg, and parents, Albert and Carrie Kramer Offenberg.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Maureen Gleeson Giammanco of St. Louis, MO., and Patti Gleeson Carter of Lafayette, LA., son, Stephen Offenberg of Stockbridge, GA., and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, from 6-8 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Thursday, October 19, 2006, there will be a 10 AM graveside service in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2600 23rd Avenue, Gulfport, MS., 39501.
