Novella “Nona” Tandy Feeney, age 71, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport.
Nona was born on November 22, 1950 in Jennings, Louisiana. She grew up on Beach Blvd. In Gulfport, where she spent her childhood riding horses on the beach. She attended Gulfport High School and later Draughns Business School in Jackson.
Nona worked for the Gulfport School District as a financial administrator and then for thirty-one years at Rocking C Truck Lines as an office manager, bookkeeper, chief coffee maker, and finder of all things. She loved her work family dearly.
Nona was a dedicated mother and avid supporter of all her children’s activities, instilling her love of horses in Angela and spending countless hours at the baseball field with Adam. She was active in the PTA where she held numerous positions and prior to covid was an active member of The Lighthouse Church of God. Nona was also a proud member of the Biloxi River Yacht Club. She loved living on the river and cherished all of her fellow river rat friends. She had a flair for life that was uniquely her own.
Nona was a devout Christian who studied her the Word and devotionals daily. Her faith was unwavering throughout trials in her life and she always had an encouraging word or verse for everyone. We take comfort in knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior and living large with Him.
Nona was preceded in death by her parents, E.F. and Novella Tandy.
She is survived by her children, Angela Waite (Kris) and Adam Feeney (Donna) and the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Conner Waite, Kayln Waite, Caden Waite, Tyler Feeney, Bryar Feeney (Bailey), Chandler Feeney, Tanner Feeney, Brenner Feeney, Analeise Williams, Braxton Williams, Hudson Williams, and Eliza Williams, and great-grandson, Baylor Feeney.
Nona is also survived by her beloved fur children, Max, Saucy, Kat, Grape Ape, and Taz.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Singing River Hospital for their care and compassion over the last several weeks.
