Olive Kennedy Landry

Olive Kennedy Landry, on June 29, 2006 Olive Kennedy Landry, 89, of Biloxi went to join her heavenly family. She had been looking forward to this day for a long time. Mrs. Landry was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis M. Landry, Sr.; her son, Joseph "Joe" L. Landry; her parents, Joseph "Joe" C. Kennedy and Ella Smith Kennedy; and her sister, Ethel Kennedy Endris. Mrs. Landry is survived by two sons, Dennis "Denny" M. Landry, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Biloxi, and Robert "Bobby" L. Landry, Sr. and his wife Sharon of St. Martin; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and twenty-one nieces and nephews. Mrs. Landry was a member of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cathedral, the Legion of Mary, and made floral arrangements for the alter for many years. She was a former Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph operator, a seamstress and photograph retouch artist. Mrs. Landry's priorities were church, family and friends. One of her greatest joys was cooking and entertaining. Her cooking was unsurpassed and holidays always meant a packed house. Her hobbies were ceramics, flower gardening, and flower arranging. She was a member of the Old Brick House Garden Club in Biloxi for many years. Mrs. Landry will be missed by those who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 11am at Nativity BVM Catholic Cathedral; friends may visit one hour prior to service time. Burial to follow in Southern Memorial Park.
