Ollen Musgrove

Ollin (Kit) Musgrove , age 77, of Gulfport, passed away Saturday October 18, 2008 at his home in Gulfport following an extended illness. Mr. Musgrove was a native of Laurel, MS and had been a resident of Gulfport for the past two years. Mr. Musgrove was a beloved husband and father who served his country for over twenty years in the United States Marines serving tours in the Korean War and in Vietnam. He had also served as a drill sergeant at Paris Island and was an instructor for the Marine Corps Reserves. Mr. Musgrove was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Purple Heart Association, and the Marine Corps League. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents A.C. and Susan Musgrove, step-father Bill Davis, his brother, R.C. Musgrove, sisters, Pauline Little and Elsie Robinson. Mr. Musgrove is survived by his wife of forty years, Ethel Mae Musgrove, daughters; Marian Latimer and her husband David of Laurel, Christi Jacquot of Pass Christian, and Karen Musgrove and her fiance Colin McCain of Gulfport, his sons; Kathan (Kit) Musgrove of Gulfport, and James Musgrove and wife Anne of Gulfport. Mr Musgrove is also survived by his sisters Lena Sweeney and Mandy Buckley and by twelve grandchildren he dearly loved. A visitation will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2008 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on O'Neal Rd. in Gulfport. The funeral service will be on Wednesday October 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
