Mr. Oscar E. Heffner, Jr., age 82, of Louisville, KY., passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, in Louisville, at Summerfield Manor Nursing Center.
Mr. Heffner was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Being a native of Tulsa, OK., a resident of Ocean Springs, MS., for several years, Mr. Heffner and his family came to Louisville, KY., in February, 1952. He was an electrician at Shedd's Barrush Foods, member of the Mosaic United Methodist Church, the Shively Masonic Lodge #951, the Kosair Shrine, Scottish Rite, especially working within the Sunshriners Unit, the Transportation Unit and Laurel Court #6. He was also the past president of Can Run Improvement Club.
Mr. Heffner was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Heffner and Ruth Heffner.
Survivors include his faithful bride of 59 years, Lucille J. Fayard, of Louisville, KY., and a native of Ocean Springs, MS., devoted daughter, Lucille (Cindy) H. Clary, son-in-law, John Clary, step-grandson, J.G. Clary; brother, Marshall B. Heffner, his two sons and their families, all of Ocean Springs, MS.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 1, 2006, from 7-9 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Monday, October 2, 2006, there will be a 1 PM chapel service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs.
