Mrs. Osceola Raymond Patronas, 91, of D'Iberville, MS, passed away, Saturday, October 30, 2010, in Gulfport. ? Mrs. Patronas was born April 6, 1919, in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the coast. As a young girl she worked in the seafood factories and later served as a "Rosie the Rivetor" at Keesler AFB flight line. She was a banquet waitress at the Officer's Club, manager of the NCO food facility and retired after 34 years as manager of the Airmen's Club. During WW II she volunteered as a nurse with the Red Cross. She served as President of D'Iberville Community Club, was an active member of D'Iberville School's PTA, a member of St. Mary's Guild and chairman of Lenten Lunches at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Mrs. Patronas loved to travel. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and was a frequent traveler abroad, including Europe, the Mediterranean and the Holy Land. She also enjoyed her trips to the Caribbean. Mrs. Patronas was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall "Bud" Patronas; son, Randy Lee Patronas; parents, Randolph and Isabelle Goodiyear Raymond; grandson, Randy Patronas, Jr.; siblings, Edward Raymond, Ted Raymond, Lillian Xenos, and Presley "Skeeter" Raymond; and son-in-law, Wally Taranto. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Sue Taranto; son, Marshall (Linda) Patronas, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Theda Patronas; grandchildren, Debbie Mitzel, Osceola Smith, Rhonda Jamison, Susan Michaelson, Steven Benson, Shelly Burklow, Marshall Patronas, III, Jonathan Patronas, Sr.. Gerald Burdine, Julie Cox, Johnny Burdine, Tracy Burdine, Lisa Allen, and Laurie Suhl; and great grandchildren, Holly Sue, Michael, Jennifer, Steven, Jessica, David, Jr., Ryan, Steven, Jr., Brooke, Taylor, Lindy, Cole, Nicolette, Dominick, Jonathan, Jr., and Olivia. Visitation is Monday, November 1, 2010, from 4:30 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, de Miller Hall on Water St., where friends may visit one hour before service time. Entombment will follow in Southern Memorial Park.
