Overton Anderson Allen

Overton Allen, age 104, died peacefully on Monday, June 17th, 2024.

Born in Peoria, Illinois, Mr. Allen found his way to Biloxi through his enlistment to the U.S. Army at the age of 17. After serving for 7 years, Mr. Allen went on to become an Electrician and Carpenter Supervisor at the Biloxi VA, where he later retired.

Mr. Allen was a devout member of the Cristus Victor Lutheran Church in Ocean Springs, MS. He was a dedicated and loving father and grandfather and will be dearly remembered and sadly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Allen; daughter, Lee Anna Allen Tesch; son, Elmer Allen; and grandson Robert Allen.

Survivors include his son, Paul (Mary) Allen; grandchildren, Mark (Nadine) Gotjen, Joe (Cyndi) O’Neal, Rafe O’Neal, Angel Crawford, Cary Allen, Jeremy (Laura) Allen, and Michelle (Jim) Allen; and numerous great grandchildren. 

The family would like to thank everyone at the Sanctuary House, Moss Point, MS for the wonderful care that was given to “Pawpaw” during his time there.

Services will be held at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, MS on Friday, June 21st, 2024, at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at the VA Cemetery in Biloxi, MS.
