Pasqua Lina Hopkins, age 88, of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at her home.
Lina was born on June 22, 1936 in Valguarnera, Sicily. She attended trade school in Catania, Sicily, and studied and became a seamstress.
Lina was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Edward Hopkins, a Navy Seabee, and settled in Gulfport, MS. Lina, who was a seamstress by trade, enjoyed making clothes along with doing alterations, which she continued to do until her illness no longer allowed it. She enjoyed all of her interactions with the many people she met through her love of sewing. Lina will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Lina was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Hopkins; parents, Christofero Rossingoulo and Maria Catina Abbate Rossingoulo; siblings, Luigi, Nino, Teresa, Christofero, Rosario, and Salvatore Rossingoulo.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Sistrunk (Jeff) and Christopher Hopkins (Robin); grandchildren, Megan Wylie (Ben), Chelsea Hutchins (Buck), Garrett Hopkins (Madison), and Emily Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Ava, Jase, and Waylon Wylie, Charley and Olivia Hutchins, and Elouise Hopkins; and siblings, Enza Giamblanco (Salvatore) and Giuseppe Rossingoulo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 2414 17th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 8910 Carl Legett Road, Gulfport, MS 39503. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Hopkins family.
