Patricia O'Keefe Obrimski

Pat O'Keefe Obrimski of Garrett Park, MD passed away on September 20, 2009. Mrs. Obrimski was born on September 27, 1937 in Jackson, MS and was the daughter of Retired Adjutant General and Mrs. John A. O'Keefe. Mr. O'Keefe was elected Mayor of Biloxi in 1935. Mayor O'Keefe was asked and later served as Adjutant General for the State of Mississippi. Gen. O'Keefe served active duty during WW II in North Africa. Mrs. Obrimski worked for the Library of Congress for approximately 15 years and was the Director of the Recording Studio in the library's Talking Books for the Blind program. Mrs. Obrimski is survived by her husband of 44 years, Frank Obrimski; her daughters, Margaret Bonacorda and Sharon Portillo and her husband Rob; her son, Barry Smith and Beth Dennis. Also survived by 7 grandchildren. Friends were received at Pumphrey's Bethesda-Chevy Chase Funeral Home in Bethesda, MD on Thursday, September 24, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, September 25 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Patricia's name to the Montgomery County ASPCA.
