Mr. Patrick M. Santa Cruz, age 87, of Biloxi, MS., died Sunday, June 25, 2006, in Gulfport. Mr. Santa Cruz was born on March 6, 1919, in Seymour, MS., and was a lifelong resident of Biloxi. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville, MS., where he was baptized and served as an altar boy in the first Blessing of the Fleet in 1927. Mr. Santa Cruz was preceded in death by his wife, Lilly Rose Wentzell Santa Cruz, parents, Adolph and Emma Quave Santa Cruz, brothers, Donald Santa Cruz, Sr., and Delphine Santa Cruz, and sisters, Mildred Santa Cruz, Sophia Santa Cruz Scarbrough, and Myrtle Santa Cruz Robinson. Survivors include a son, Alan J. Santa Cruz and wife Joan, longtime residents of Biloxi, MS., and currently of Ocean Springs, MS., two sisters, Nellie Santa Cruz Robinson and Sue Santa Cruz Trochessett, grandchild, Meredith Elizabeth Santa Cruz of Springs, TX., step-grandchildren, Connie A. Jarrett and husband, Bobby, of Woolmarket, MS., and Jason L. Gum (currently in Bagdad, Iraq) and wife, Demisha, of Ocean Springs, MS., and eight great-grandchildren. On Wednesday, June 28, 2006, there will be a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville, where friends may visit from 9-10 AM. Burial will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
