Paul J. Houdart Jr. passed away on September 30, 2010 (on his 71st birthday) in Saucier, MS. Born in Salem, NJ on September 30, 1939, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Peg (Delaney) Houdart. He attended Salem High School and St. James High School in Carneys Point, NJ. After high school, Paul served ten years in the US Navy. Following this tour of duty, he joined the Merchant Marines and retired from service on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.
Paul is survived by his son, Paul J. (Tina) Houdart III, Newark, DE; daughters, Desiree (David) Sparks, Alloway, NJ and Ches Ann (Mark) Coenen, Shawnee, KS; step-daughter, Linda Grice, Ocean Springs, MS; step-son, Robert Bell, Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Wesley, Meghan and Natalie Sparks, Alloway, NJ, Elizabeth Coenen, Shawnee KS and Rachel Spinken, Newark, DE; step-granddaughter, Jackie (Robert) Gautier, Olympia, WA; great-granddaughter, Lilliana, Alloway, NJ. He is also survived by a brother, Michael (Lynn) Houdart, Seaville, NJ; a sister, Mary Lou (Ben) Timberman, Elmer, NJ and his beloved pet dog, "Bandit."
He was predeceased by his wife Louella in December, 2009 and his precious son, Mark on April 19, 1980.
Paul's services will be private and his ashes will be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
