Paul Scott Smith

Paul Scott Smith, known as Scott to his family and friends, age 82, passed on to the Lord, March 29, 2009 in Biloxi, MS. He is the beloved brother of Dorothy Smith Tinsler of Biloxi. Scott was a WW II Veteran serving with the US Army. After the war he worked for several railroads, NY Central, Penn Central, Conrail and Indiana Harbor Belt. He retired as District Manager for Freight Claims after 44 years. He worked in many different places during his tenure with the railroads such as; Chicago, IL, Buffalo, NY and Hammond, IN. After living for a time in Indiana he finally retired to Biloxi, MS where his family had owned Paul's Mobile Home Park and Apartments. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Smith and his mother, Opal Smith. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Smith Tinsler of Biloxi; aunts, Ann of Biloxi, Ione of TN; cousins, Gertrude Loveall of Martin, TN, John & Francis Dorris, Susan Smith, Pat Smith all of Nashville, TN. Extended family, Debbie Upshaw and her family of Bush, LA, Susan Tinsler of Madison, MS and Danny Tinsler of Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to: Mental Health Assoc., 2436 Pass Road, Suite C, Biloxi, MS 39531. Pallbearers for the services will be: Rick Braun, Brian Upshaw, Paul Upshaw, John Stanovich, Clarence Norgal and Teo Esculano. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in West Biloxi. Friends may visit one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery, Gulfport.
