Mrs. Pearl Simpson Oglesbee, 90, of Biloxi, passed away quietly at Haven's Harbor Personal Care Home, Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Mrs. Oglesbee was born in Lumberton, MS and subsequently moved to Columbia, MS. She was a graduate of Columbia High School. She was married to Overl Oglesbee, a Baptist minister, and moved with him to many church pastorates; Trinity Baptist Church in Biloxi First Baptist Church of Valparaiso, FL and Oakcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL, among them. When he retired they made their home in Biloxi. They have been long-time members of First Baptist Church, Biloxi. Mrs. Oglesbee was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Overl Oglesbee; her parents, Benjamin and Pearl Simpson; and her seven siblings, Ursula Beech and Myrtie Byrd of Newport News, VA, Mattie Kyzer, Jessie Newburn and Katherine Barber of Columbia, MS; Benjamin Simpson of Escatawpa, and Ruby Redding of Biloxi. She is survived by her daughters, Kaye (Ervin) Keener and Carol Rickman; her grandson, Doug Patrick; her granddaughter, Lori Guerra; her great grandson, Aaron Guerra, her great granddaughter, Rebecca Bryant; her "special sister", Mary Frances Beech of Newport News, VA; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Heaven's Harbor Home (Mrs. Roberson, Crystal, April, Tanya, Shandy and Adrianne) for the care and attention they provided. Also a grateful thanks to the St. Joseph's Hospice, particularly, Linda, Rhonda and Coco. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, MS.
