Peggy Jo Bass Daniels

Peggy Jo Bass Daniels, age 92, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

Peggy was born in Marion County on December 28, 1931.  When she was ten, her family moved to Picayune and then to Poplarville six years later where she lived until moving to Ocean Springs to live with her daughter several years ago.

Peggy married John Ross Daniels in 1950 and they remained married for 50 years until his death in 2001.  She held numerous jobs in Poplarville, but the job she enjoyed the most was working as a deputy clerk in the Pearl River County Chancery Clerk’s office, which she did for 25 years until her retirement.  She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Poplarville and enjoyed being part of the Harmony Sunday School Class.

In addition to her husband, Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Ronald Stephen (Mack) and Rozella Bass.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanne Daniels Williams (Frank); her son, Steven Daniels; four grandsons, Tanner Williams (Katie), Justin Daniels (Candace), Brennan Williams (Ashley), and Jason Daniels (Gabby); five great granddaughters, Adlea Daniels, Avery Williams, Ainsley Daniels, Brenzleigh Daniels, and Olivia Daniels; and two great grandsons, Aiden Seals and Vince Hayes.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Poplarville on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 1:30 pm.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm.  Peggy wished for memorial donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Poplarville.
