Mr. Peter Fortune Guidry, 70, of Pass Christian, MS, died Friday, December 7, 2007, in Jackson County.
Mr. Guidry was born in Utica, NY and had been a resident of the coast for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Parish Catholic Church on the Seabee Base in Gulfport and the Knights of Columbus. A retired veteran of the U. S. Navy Seabees, he served two tours in Vietnam and he was a member of the Navy Seabee Veteran's of America. After retiring he enjoyed raising and selling piglets and firewood and tree removal.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Catherine Guidry; his parents, Leo and Mary Guidry, and a brother, Gerald Guidry. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Bonner Guidry of Pass Christian; three sons, Michel Guidry of Palm Springs, CA, Eddie Joe Guidry of New York, and Andrew Guidry of Boston, MA; a step-son, Kevin Bonner, and two step-grandchildren, Patrick Bonner and Megan Bonner, all of Elizabethtown, KY.
Visitation is Tuesday, December 11, 2007, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St., in Gulfport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach at 12 noon where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
