Peter M. Radich Jr., age 87, of d'Iberville MS, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, in Biloxi.
Mr. Radich was born March 2, 1924, in Biloxi, MS. He served in the US Navy during WWII from July 1941 to October 1945, where he served aboard the Destroyer USS Madison as Gunners Mate, and also on numerous other ships. Mr. Radich's passions in life were family vacations, gardening, and golf. During his early years he played golf daily including numerous tournaments and was very proud of accomplishing 13 hole-in-ones during his lifetime.
He will be reunited in Heaven with his mother, Mary Guich Radich; father, Peter John Radich; sisters, Peggy Byrd, Nicholena Strayham, Etta Radich, Stella Radich, and Victoria Radich; and brothers, Andrew and Nicky Radich.
During his long joyous life, he was constantly surrounded by friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Emelda Diaz Radich, who celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary the day preceding his death. Mr Radich is also survived by his son, Peter M. Radich, III; his daughters, Brenda Roch (Lanny), Debbie Fremin (Michael), Cindy Dobson (Mike), and Julie Cardy; his brothers, John Radich (Delores), and Tony Radich; along with ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by friends and family.
The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Vincent-de-Paul Society, St. Mary Catholic Church, 8343 Woolmarket Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
