Mr. Pharoah Baker, 76 passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 in Biloxi.
Mr. Baker was a native of Bogue Chitto, MS. He served 23 years in the U.S. Army retired in 1972, later he worked as an offshore cook with Marathon Oil company.
Pharoah was a Master Mason, Shriner, and was a Baptist.
He enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, and Camping and was a member of the American Legion Post 0014 in McComb, MS.
Pharoah was preceded in death by his parents; Richard Thomas and Ruby Louise Dear Baker; sisters, Lottie Mae Davis, Nellie Rae Clark, Tommie Ruth Welch; and daughter, Millie Sturtevant.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years Elizabeth Albert Sturtevant Baker of, Biloxi daughters; Linda Jones, of Ferriday, LA, Mandy Howard, of Jena, LA, Penny Sturtevant of, Biloxi, Elizabeth Jo Rushing of, Latimer; sons, Donald Baker of, Bogue Chitto, MS, Ronald Baker of, Waynesboro, AK; brothers Cecil Baker of Hattiesburg, MS and Richard Thomas Baker Jr. of Bogue Chitto, MS.; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family of Mr. Baker would like to express their graditude to the caregivers and staff of building 2 at the Biloxi Veterans Administration and request that memorials to go to the Alzheimer's Association 4803 Harrison Circle , Gulfport, MS 39507.
Services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 1:30 where friends may visit one hour prior to service at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe. Burial will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Services.
