Philip Carol Schroeder

Philip Carol Schroeder, Sr., age 94, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. He was born on January 7, 1931, in Tuxedo Park, NY. He grew up in Beacon, NY and spent his childhood summers in Honesdale, PA.

In 1949, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for 20 years. In 1950, he was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base where he met and married his wife Beverly, from Biloxi, MS. His military career in radar technology would take them overseas to Spain as well as other deployments to Newfoundland and Montana.

After retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant from the Air Force in 1969, he continued his civilian career in marine electronics. He serviced the boats of local shrimpers and other recreational vessels unit well into his 80’s.

He was an avid hunter, Sudoku player, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a resident of Ocean Springs for 61 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Mathias Schroeder, his mother, Phillipa Jayne Schroeder, his wife of 62 years, Beverly Schroeder and their son, J. Daniel Schroeder. He is survived by his daughter, Lona Schroeder Lee (Billy), his son, Philip Schroeder, Jr. (Rachel), his grandchildren, Daniel Schroeder, John Daniel Schroeder II, Ryan Schroeder, Brad Schroeder, Philip Schroeder III and Isabella Schroeder and three great-grandchildren, Jackson Schroeder, Jameson Schroeder and Brooks Schroeder.

A public graveside service and burial will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 22 at 1:30 pm.
