Phillip "Lance" Newman

Phillip Lance Newman, 63, of Biloxi, died Friday, May 17, 2013 in Moss Point, MS. Mr. Newman has had a long struggle with cancer for twelve years, never complaining about his struggles. He was a supervisor for Isle of Capri; and he also worked at Casino Magic and Copa Casino. Mr. Newman was a kind and gentle man that never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother and grandfather. Mr. Newman is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Newman; and his brother, Jimmy Newman. His survivors include his wife of eighteen years, Mary Newman; his daughters, Lauren Ashley Newman, Alisha (Larry, Jr.) Johnson and Rachel Slay; his mother, Gloria Newman; his sister, Leann Meyer; and his granddaughter, Gianna Johnson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until mass time. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
