Phillip William Sexton passed away Tuesday, August 16 at the age of 70. He was born on September 25, 1940 in Biloxi and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast and was a member of Saucier Holiness Church.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl Hurlbert Sexton and children, Cynthia Sexton, Randy Sexton, Carla McNeeley, Harold Sexton, Steven Sexton and Robert Phillip “Bobby” Sexton, his sisters Anita Saucier, Mary Breland, brother-in-law Gene Breland and his best friend Art Overstreet. Phillip has 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Caple and stepfather Presley Caple, father Robert Sexton, and sister Patricia Beasley and sister-in-law Darlene Hurlbert Herndon.
Phillip was a man that had many talents and interests. He was an extremely hard worker and avid hunter. Most people will remember Phillip for his great sense of humor, love of animals and big heart. Phillip always put others before himself and was willing to help anyone in need. He helped many people through the years and affected many lives through his caring and generosity.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 20, at 11:00 am at Saucier Holiness Church located at 18017 Bond Road, Saucier, MS, 39574 where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be sent to 12396 Stiglets Road Gulfport, MS 39503 or email shaloota@gmail.com.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him, family, friends, his hunting buddies and especially Eddie Beau and Tinkerbell Sexton.
