Phyllis Mallette Dees

Mrs. Phyllis Mallette Dees, age 79, of Vancleave, MS., died Sunday, March 11, 2007, in Vancleave. Mrs. Dees was a lifelong resident of the community and was a member of Vancleave United Methodist Church. She loved flowers and the outdoors and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Hattie Mallette, sister, Adelaide Fairley, brother, Infant Boy Mallette, and stepmother, Fannie Flurry Mallette. Survivors include four daughters, Jeanie (Don) Hays of Mt. Pleasant, TN., Jane (Cham) Trotter of Belzoni, MS., Pauline (James) Montague of Vancleave, MS., Shauna Doty of Ocean Springs, MS., three sons, Clifton Dees of Mobile, AL., Chi (Cathy) Dees and Scott Dees, all of Vancleave, MS., two sisters, Doris Bloodworth of Shelby Township, MI., and Rogene Mays of Roy, WA., twelve grandchildren, Michelle (David) Ward of Greenville, SC, Jacquelyn (Robert) Ward of Fredericksburg, VA, Jill (James) Dees of Bessemer, AL, Cliff Dees of Miramar, FL, Dr. Germaine (Michael) Gottsche Wilson of Ocean Springs, MS, Chad (Susanne) Dees of Vancleave, MS., Dusty (Trisha) Dees of Valdosta, GA., Ashley (Kevin) Walker of Ocean Springs, MS, Troy Montague of Brandon, MS, Logan Dees, Megan Strong, and Jordyn Doty, all of Ocean Springs, MS, and ten great-grandchildren. A special loving thanks to dear friend Clyte and the Calton family. Also a special recognition of her devoted caregivers, Karen Richards, Aileen Dewberry and Jessie Mae Bang, and the nurses and staff of the Southern Care Hospice of Lucedale, MS. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 15, 2007, from 11 AM - 1 PM, with a 1 PM chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Vancleave #2 Cemetery in Vancleave, MS.
