Phyllis M. Smith

Phyllis M. Smith, age 90, of Gulfport passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Phyllis was born on April 23, 1932 in Mississippi City, MS. She attended Gulfport High School and Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans. Phyllis was a retired nurse from Harrison County Health Department.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Smith and parents, Charles Murphy and Hattie Kaehler.

Survivors include her daughters, Julie Bomar (Gary) of Nolensville, TN, Linda Taylor (David) of Ocean Springs, Sarah Diehl (Tim) of Tulsa, OK, and Lisa Gorman (Berry) of Gulfport; sons, Stuart Smith (Martha) of Danvers, MA, Carl Smith (Shaarlene) of Fredericksburg, VA, and David Smith of D’Iberville; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Deaconess Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Smith family.
