Prentiss Michael Reed

Mr. Prentiss "Mike" Reed, 54, born December 28, 1951, in Biloxi, MS, joined his mother, Ozella Reed and his former father-in-law, Earl Batia, Sr., in heaven Thursday, June 8, 2006. Mike was a lifelong resident of St. Martin and a 1971 graduate of St. Martin High School. He was an avid fisherman and when he wasn't fishing he was riding around St. Martin and D'Iberville in his "truck". He was a first class pipe welder and worked at Chevron, Ingalls and various welding jobs. Mike served six years in the Army National Guard. He leaves to cherish his memory his former wife and best friend, Debbie Reed of Vancleave; daughter, Kelli Reed of St. Martin; son, Kevin Reed also of St. Martin; father, Prentiss Reed; brother, Eugene "Mousey" Reed and his wife, Dora, all of Latimer; numerous nieces and nephews.and great niece and great nephews.Also included with those who will miss Mike is his former mother-in-law, Vicki Batia; his former brothers-in- law, Earl Batia, Jr. and his wife, Jeannie, and Mike Batia; sister-in-law, Kathy Tiblier and her husband, Keith, and other family members and friends. Mike will be remembered by his smile and his easy going personality. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at 12 noon at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs where friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
